Gerald Slemko: Executive Chairman & Interim Chief Executive Officer
Jason Wright: General Manager
An electrical engineer by training, Jason has focused on promoting the use of innovative approaches to providing superior customer value in Ottawa’s high-tech sector for over 20 years. He was previously a co-founder of a small electronics design services firm CoreSim, which was later acquired by the contract manufacturer Celestica. As is often required for start-ups, his various functions spanned executive, operational, financial, and quality leadership roles. Additionally, he helped pioneer an innovative design analysis service for global high-tech customers that helped substantially reduce their design cycle costs and time. Jason joined Annidis in 2013 as a Hardware engineer and was promoted in 2016 to Manager of Product Development. In addition to his experience with many of Ottawa’s high-tech companies, his work experience includes Nortel Networks and Cisco Systems. Jason has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Ryerson Polytechnic University.
Michael R. McDonnell: Vice President Operations and Director Quality & Regulatory
Michael McDonnell holds a BSc in electrical engineering and has over 35 years of experience in management, manufacturing operations and quality control management, with companies such as Lockheed-Martin, Spar Aerospace, World Heart Corporation, Panacis Medical, Fluorescence Inc. and Annidis Corporation. Well versed in ISO quality management systems and Health Canada, FDA, CE Mark and other international regulatory approval processes and in the execution of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Michael ensures our technology is manufactured to the highest and most advanced standards for eye care medical equipment.
Brian Baker: Chief Financial Officer
Brian Baker is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of financial and operational experience in medical and related fields including MDS Pharma Services and MDS Capital Corp. His public and private company experience has been vital to the funding and development of the Annidis Corporation mission.
Rick Clayton: Director Product Development
Rick Clayton, engineer and physicist by training, has more than 25 years experience in global high technology encompassing applications and products from material science, advanced devices, and process science and engineering. Rick has been instrumental in commercializing Annidis’ advanced scientific and clinical concepts. In addition, Rick served on the board of the Canadian Photonics Consortium and the MIT Microphotonics Center Communications Technology Roadmap (CTR) project. A lifelong passion and scientific interest in the eye led Rick to join Annidis at its founding.
